The Adverb

An adverb is a word which modifies the meaning of a verb, an adjective or another


Adverb.
i. She was sitting close beside him.
ii. At what hour is the sun right above us?
iii. Have you read all through this book?
iv. She was dressed all in pink.
v. He paid his debts down to the last penny.

Kinds of Adverbs
Adverb of time: Which gives answer of ‘when’.
i. I have listened it before.
ii. That day he came late.
iii. We shall now begin to work.
iv. I met him on Sunday.
v. He comes here daily.
vi. He once met in Mardan.
vii. Mr. Ashfaq formerly lived here.
viii. He came here a few minutes before.
ix. I hurt my arm yesterday.
x. Wasted time never return.

Adverbs of Degree or Quantity (which show how much or in what degree or to what
extent.)
i. He was too careless.
ii. These mangoes are almost ripe.
iii. I am fully prepared.
iv. The sea is very stormy.
v. He is good enough for my purpose.
vi. I am so gold.
vii. You are altogether mistaken.
viii. Things are no better at present.
ix. She sings pretty well.
