Selection tools

Selection tool – selects entire object.

Direct Selection – selects anchor points of objects
Magic Wand – selects objects with same color or pattern.
Selection tool options (on control panel) – selects objects with same stroke, fill, opacity, etc.

Aligning key Objects

Vertical bottom alignment – objects align to the bottom of the lowest picket.
• To align select all objects, then select key object.
• Choose icon () from control panel, and then select alignment option.

Aligning Paths

Vertical Align Top – obect or path align to key path/object's same height.
• do the same as aligning key object, but choose the Vertical align top.

Distributing Space between Objects

Grouping Objects

• select objects and group selection

• adding a group is done by selecting object or group and selecting another and selecting group.
• To choose seperate group or object in group, access the Group Selection tool ( arrow with plus).
Then double click on desired object or group

Arranging Item

• can be done by placing layer on top

• throough arrangement selection
• To select items that are behind objects hold down the CONTROL BUTTON ( with selection
tool)
Duplicating objects – hold alt, click on object and drag.
Locking Objects – CTRL 2.

when objects are in the way of selecting other objects

• hide object blocking the other
• use CTRL with selection tool
