In the Chinese language, we can spell out the sounds of the characters

and write it words. That is called pinyin. Hanyu pinyin is the most currently

used Romanization system for Standard Mandarin. Also. Pinyin can be

represented by letters. Except for the letter ‘v’, we use all other English

alphabets. The letter ‘ü’ is added to represent the vowel sound ‘yu’. Pinyin

is used in mainland China (Hong Kong, Macau, parts of Taiwan, etc.) to

teach Mandarin to students.

The Chinewe language is usually formed by three parts. Those are:

initial, final, and tone. Initials aren’t always there.

There are tone marking above the letters of the pinyin. There are 5

tones (including the neutral tone). First is ‘mā.’ The line above the pintin is

the tone marking. It means to hold the sound high and long. Secondly,

there is ‘má’ . The tone mark is going up, and it means rising and long.

Thirdly, ‘mǎ’ needs to be low and short. It is a dipping tone, so the sound

goes down and up. Forthly, ‘mà’ is falling and hort. Lastly, but not least, the

neutral tone.
