Steel for RCC Slab

You can use this constant for the

programming. But as per Civil
practice, you can calculate the total
quantity for RCC items as per Bar
Bending schedule where the
columns of the schedule are
1. S. No.
2. Detailed description of
member/bar
3. dia. of bar
4. Length of bar
5. No. of bars
6. Total length of bars
7. Total weight
IN case design details are not available with then we should take 1.5 kg per Sq. Ft. Area of the slab. T
also cover reinforcement for beams in the slab. otherwise calculate length of the bars involved and th
multiply the standard weight dia. wise (as per IS 1786) with the lengths calculated for different dia. ba
If code is not available than use this formula (.785X area of BarX Length)

The weight of steel is 7850 kg/Cum

the above schedule can be in Excel & with some formulas it is possible to get the quantity auto.
The weights (in kg) for dia. per Rmt. are as

6 mm - 0.222
8 mm - 0.395
10 mm - 0.617
12 mm - 0.888
16 mm - 1.58
20 mm - 2.47
25 mm - 3.853
32 mm - 6.314
