My design is basically a recubent tricycle with two wheels in front and one at the

back, also known as Tadpole Configuration.

The Tadpole configuration is ergonomically very sound and has great handling. On
the other hand, keeping two wheels in front increases the frontal area which is
aerodynamically unsound. However, considering the problem statement of a tricycle
for joyriding, a tadpole configuration is best. In fact designing and constructing a
Tadpole tricycle would prove beneficial for the students when they reach
automobile engineering as Tadpole config. has many similarities with vehicle
design.

The stearing in the design is like the stearing of a conventional bicycle althugh
there is room for improvement here, but those can only be tested during
construction or through simulations.

For braking, the calliper brakes would do just fine, although Drum brakes are
genrally used in Tadpole Configuration.

Aerdynamically, this design is a bit weak though use of a fairing in front of the tires
and covering of the wheel spokes are beneficial for reducing the wind resistance.
