How microphone works?

The diaphragm vibrates it causes the mic to vibrate which is converted to electrical
current and process and become audio signal.

Mic level is millivolt which is too little to be processed and must be needed to
amplify to line level which is 0.5v to 2v which the radio, cd player processed.

Acoustical Engineering

Acoustics of room are often considered to ensure speech intelligibility and privacy.
The one affecting intelligibility is standing waves which is the wave results from
sound reflected 180° out of phase with incedent waves, which often occurs for at
least one specific frequency when two walls are placed parallel to each other.

Ways to prevent sound deduction and reverberation:

1. Angled walls

2. Porous absorbing materials-glass or mineral fibres, textile, polyurethane foam

3. Masking- cancelling or drowning out of other sound, layered combination of

different materials

Ultrasound- cyclic sound pressure with frequency greater than human hearing
frequency. It is also known as sonography -produces pictures of foetuses in
mother’s womb

Infrasonic- (20Hz-0.001Hz) utilizes for monitoring earthquakes, charting rocks,

petroleum formation below earth, volcanic eruption, ballistocardiography and
seismocardiography mechanics of the heart.

Sufrasonic- cover long distances and get around obstacles with little dissipation.
