There are 5 key responsibilities for all instructors.

 Creates a learning environment that fosters trust and openness among the class members and
with the instructor.
 Teaches course content according to the guidelines of the AHA, as defined in the AHA
Instructor's Manual.
 Enforces AHA manikin cleaning and disinfecting guidelines between student use and after the
class.
 Identifies those participants who meet the AHA criteria for card issuance.
 Returns a completed Sign-in Roster and the course evaluation forms to the TC. Assists the TC in
providing community courses

Skill performance sheets, course evaluations, and a sample pre-course letter can be found in the CD
ROM enclosed with your instructor manual. The instructor manuals and Program Administration Manual
also contain the forms used by instructors. Course rosters can be obtained through your Training Center.

When I asked that question the reply I received was when you are unable to see full chest recoil - that is
to fast. For effective compressions you need rate, adequate depth of compression and full chest recoil.
