ABSTRACT:

Magnetic Levitation is a phenomenon by which an object is suspended with no

support other than magnetic fields whose force counteract the effects of

gravitational force. This phenomenon, also known as MAGLEV, is the method in

which two magnets are repelled from each other in vertical direction. The purpose

of this seminar is -------------.The fast life of present day requires faster

locomotives. With the air traffic becoming heavy and expensive most of the people

turn over to trains. The trains of present day are a bit slow compared to hectic

lives. So there is a necessity for developing high speed locomotives. The different

types of levitations are diamagnetic levitation, placing diamagnetic material in

strong electromagnetic fields, placing magnetic material in strong diamagnetic

fields, placing diamagnetic material in strong magnetic fields, placing magnetic

material in diamagnetic fields with a biasing magnet
