10. 1 12, 14, 15. 10, THEODORE ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL, Expectations for Student Behavior No drinking or possession of intoxication liquor/beverage or use of any other controlled ‘substance as outlined in the Discipline Policy of the Des Moines Public Schools. ANY STUDENT(S) WHO VIOLATE THE ABOVE RULE WILL BE SENT HOME IMMEDIATELY, AT THE STUDENT'S EXPENSE, AND REFERRED FOR 10 DAY SUSPENSION. No possession or smoking of tobacco products. Referrals will be written to vice-principals upon return for any violations of the smoking rule. There will be no visitation rights to other rooms after curfew. You will be responsible for any loss or damage to any personal or public property, and pay damages, if applicable. This includes any damage to hotel, buses, sites visited, and other participants’ property. There will be no unexcused absences from scheduled activities. You are not to be the driver of any vehicle, nor are you to be a passenger in any vehicle other than the transportation secured by the sponsors on this trip. No one is to leave the hotel, or the group, at any time alone, or without first checking out with the chaperones. Stay in groups of at least three people. If you wish to have friends or relatives visit you, this fact must be reported to the school sponsor, or the chaperones, before they visit (preferably before we leave Des Moines). On arrival at all stopping places, stay on the bus until a travel representative gives instructions. ‘A chaperone will be in charge of all medical information on the trip. However, it might be a good idea for you to carry your medical insurance card numbers in case of an emergency. All medication is to be kept with the designated chaperone. Report all accidents, or illness to the sponsor, or chaperones immediately. This trip is an extension of our classes; therefore, all school policies, rules, and regulations are in effect during this trip. You are not to participate in any activities which might endanger your safety, or the safety of another individual. Caution is advised in cansorting with strangers. DO NOT tell anyone your hotel or room number! Do not be tardy for scheduled appointinents and meeting times. Stragglers demoralize the cooperative spirit of the entire group Time schedules must be kept. Leave a copy of the trip itineraries and phone numbers with a parent/guardian before departure. Be polite, courteous and thoughtful at all times. Use of profane, obscene, or abusive language will not be tolerated. There will be no insubordination to chaperones or the sponsor. Insubordination is defined as the repeated violation of the general rules (8-14) on this trip. Students who are found insubordinate risk being sent home. Revised: August, 2005
