Send Private Message Some Bama fan poisoned all of the over 100 year old oak trees around Toomer's corner that the AU fans roll after every win.....

The trees are not expected to survive.... It won't be long before there are just randon killings after each iron bowl....(i'm not kidding one bit).

When you have nothing else to do all year long and your entire life is based completely around a college football program that you more than likely have no offcliation with, this kind of
stuff happens ( I guess)?

Certainly swings both ways.....the AU fans are nutts, but probably not quite as rabid or numerous as the Bama fans....

I agree compltetely. If you have ever lived in that state (I received my J.D. from Bama), there really isn't a rivalry in all of college sports that is as vitriloic as this one. I have been to
the Ohio St./ Mich. game in Columbus as a neutral observer, two Iron Bowls (as a neutral observer), and 26 years of home and away UF games.....the Bama/Aubie rivalry takes the
cake and that's not a good thing.

Families/marriages have broken up because of this rivalry and as the poster stated above, it gets worse every year. There is such a complex between the two schools, one that
mixes in with the state's politics and with the schools' geographical locations.

Rolling Toomer's corner is/was a great tradition....sad to hear this happened.

In all kinds of weather...

Despite how sad this is in the realm of college football it is great to hear accomplished Gator fans chime in with first hand knowledge. Thanks for posting.

It's great to be a Florida Gator!

Trust me....this is the state of Alabama.....

There are droves and droves of AU fans that will be willing to go to jail to defend those trees....LOL...

I agree with Ell 100%.....sadly folks are going to end up getting badly injured/killed over this one....

I forget exactly where, but there was a murder over the Iron Bowl about 7-8 years ago...it was right around the time AU started dominating the series...
