 The HSBC group was founded in Hong Kong in 1865 by Thomas
Sutherland to finance trade between the China coast and Europe and
the United States.
 headquartered in London, U.K
 According to Forbes magazine, HSBC was the fourth largest bank
in the world in terms of assets ($2,348.98 billion), the second
largest in terms of sales ($146.50 billion) and the largest in terms
of market value ($180.81 billion).

composite measure by forbes magazine.
