• Stems from French: meaning “Between-taker“ or
“go-between”.

• Middle ages: Actor and person in charge of large


scale production projects.

• 17th century: Person bearing risk of profit (loss)


in a fixed price contract with the Govt.

supplied funds and received interest and those
who received profits from managerial

• 19th Century: Entrepreneur is one who


mazimizes opportunities.[Peter Drucker]
Definition:
• 19th and 20th Century: as an innovator, an
individual developing something unique.
