Urban Dictionary
An Urban Dictionary is a dictionary written by YOU with definitions that you and
your peers can understand and use. You are NOT to copy the definition out of the
dictionary; I want you to put it in your own words. You may type it or hand write
it.

Directions: You are going to create an Urban Dictionary using the vocabulary
words from our Holocaust unit. You must include all of the words on the
handout, but can also receive extra credit for finding additional words related to
the Holocaust and including them as well.

This assignment will be due in four weeks – be sure to manage your time wisely
as you will have other projects to complete during this time as well.

Requirements:
• Words must be in alphabetical order
• You must identify the part of speech [noun, adjective, verb, adverb,
etc.]
• You must spell the word correctly
• You must create a definition that is at least four words long in your
own words
• You must use the word in an original sentence as an example

Extra Credit:
• Illustrations that help the reader understand what the word means
(3pts. per word.)
• Include a word for every letter of the alphabet (10 pts.)
• Create a decorative hardback cover and creative binding (10pts.)
