Summary:

Water retaining structure is a hydraulic structure designed hold back, restrain, or obstruct the
flow of water such as an embankment or dam. It includes walls, floors, roofs, columns and
footings, which is stated in the contract to be constructed for storing, conveying or excluding
water, sewage or other aqueous liquids.
