Humans have a small gut to body weight
ratio. This allows them to divert more blood to their large brains. Monkeys have massive digestive systems and very small brains compared to humans. Many monkeys have evolved multi chambered stomachs like ruminants do. The monkey will eat leaves all morning and let them ferment in one stomach chamber before digesting them. This allows monkeys to eat foods extremely high in fiber. Humans can't digest fiber well, which is why they can't eat grass and allow domestic ruminants to do this for them. Monkeys also have larger canine teeth than humans. Baboons have canine teeth nearly as large as leopards. The teeth are used for defense and also intimidation displays. Like humans, monkeys are extremely social animals and fairly intelligent. Monkeys are either vegetarians or omnivores. Humans tend to eat more meat then monkeys do.
