As BSC can be changed as per firm requirement, thus all firms in an industry will start measuring the

performance as per their chosen criteria and there will be not common criteria for industry as a whole. It
mainly measures the internal performance as well as internal success. It is developed more in the
stakeholder perspective.

A framework which can monitor change in critical parameter of the external environment

These are all performance measurement tol. We need a framework which can give insight of factors
affecting the perofmnace

It should have more strategic focus then to use it as a perfomace measurement device

Present resrach thesis don’t claim that the proposed determinants of compeititveness forms a
framework for auto component industry but certainly it prioritizes the factors defining its
competitiveness.

BSC sometimes fails - lack of enthusiasm and lack of intentions on how to use the BSC concepts, cost of
carrying out the transformation process is high.

BSC is actually a process of transformation in organization thus making the firm to be “BSC
organization”.
Undoubtedly, BSC measure the performance of an organization in the perspective of traditional financial
and non financial measures but it does not pree the importance of external business environmental
factors like government policies etc.
Not all the attributes or measures of BSC can be quantified (not sure about the statement)
