    International Women's Day is being celebrated on March 8, 2011 with two events in Belleville, Ontario. A march through downtown Belleville from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm will be followed by light refreshments and a guest speaker discussing her visit to Chiapas, Mexico. In the evening from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Belleville Public Library, Madeliene Tarasick will speak about educational opportunities for women and families in Afghanistan through Canadian Women 4 Women in Afghanistan. Both events are free and open to the public.

    For those unable to attend the daytime event, the Belleville Public Library is hosting an evening event featuring
    guest speaker Madeliene Tarasick, President of Canadian Women 4 Women in Afghanistan. CW4WAfghan is
    focused on educational opportunities for Afghan women & families and to promote understanding of Afghan
    human rights issues to Canadians. This will be held in the Meeting Room on the 3rd Floor of the Belleville
    Public Library from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on March 8th, 2011.
