1. Boo Deuk Tam Sang = Do not be greedy during a baduk match. Just play natural
ly.

2. Ip Gae Eui Wan = When you enter into your opponent s power area, do not go too
deep = Be sure to carefully enter where the power can be separated.

3. Gong Pi Go Ah = Before attacking your opponent, remember to always first chec


k your ability, then make sure that your stones are safe. Only then may you att
ack.

4. Ki Ja Jang Sun = Even if your stone is captured by the opponent, leading has
an advantage, so try to lead instead of purely working to save stones.

5. Sa So Chi Dae = Small greed will end up losing big, therefore, always look at
the entire board, rather then focusing on one area or another.

6. Bong Wi Soo Ki = If your opponent attacks you, either sacrifice that stone to
the opponent, or leave it for another time. Do not directly fight back, or one
dead stone may quickly turn into 20 dead stones.

7. Sin Mool Kyong Sok = When you play a stone, don t do so in a haphazard manner.
Always sincerely and seriously put thought into each move.

8. Dong Soo Sang Eung = Whenever you place a stone, make sure it can still conne
ct to your original position.

9. Pi Gang Ja Bo = If the surrounding stones are stronger, first consider your o


wn safety before you play any other places.

10. Sae Ko Chi Hwa = If you become isolated by your opponent, you must try to se
cure a house as soon as possible before moving anywhere else.
