1. 50 cm3 of 1M sodium thiosulphate solution is measured using 50 cm 3 measuring cylinder and
poured into the conical flask. 2. The conical flask is then put on top of white tile with a mark ‘X’ at the centre. 3. 5 cm3 of 1M sulphuric acid is then measured using 10 cm 3 measuring cylinder. 4. The sulphuric acid is then poured into the conical flask containing sodium thiosulphate solution carefully and stopwatch is started immediately. 5. The mixture is then swirled for a few times on top of the white tile marked ‘X`. 6. The mark ‘X` is viewed vertically from on top through the solution. 7. When the ‘X` mark disappear from view stop the stopwatch immediately. Time taken for the mark to disappear from view is recorded. 8. The experiment is repeated by changing the concentration of sodium thiosulphate solution and sulphuric acid.
