M.Sc. Bioinformatics (CGPA)
School of Technology,
SRTMUN Sub-Centre, Latur
M.Sc. Bioinformatics (CGPA) degree builds the student for higher studies in Bioinformatics and
to be competent with the current race with the development of new computational technologies.
The duration of the study is four semesters, which is normally completed in two years. The
primary goal of bioinformatics is to increase our understanding of biological processes. What
sets it apart from other approaches, also, it is focus on developing and applying computationally
intensive techniques (e.g., computer aided drug design, systems biology, pattern recognition, data
mining, machine learning algorithms, and visualization) to achieve this goal. Major research
efforts in the field include sequence alignment, gene finding, genome assembly, drug design,
drug discovery, protein structure alignment, protein structure prediction, prediction of gene
expression and protein-protein interactions, genome-wide association studies and the modeling
of evolution.

CGPA system
Presently the School conducts M.Sc. Bioinformatics (CGPA) Post-Graduate Courses as per
CGPA = CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE
A Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is the mean Grade Point Average (GPA) from all
academic terms within a given academic year, whereas the GPA may only refer to one term.

Courses
Sr. No Name of the Program Duration Intake
I M. Sc. [Bioinformatics]- CGPA 2 Years 30 (Seat)

Eligibility and Fees

Any science graduate is eligible for seeking admission to both of the courses. More details of
admission procedure and fees structure can be seen from the prospectus of Campus Schools of
the University.
Feature of CGPA System
