The Carousel serves as the symbol for the eidetic insight derived from the study.

As the essence
of the study revolves around the intertwining lives of both the mother and their child, the rider
and the horse of the carousel symbolically illustrate this communion. The start of the ride
symbolizes the start of the mothers’ journey through the life of her child. As the carousel moves
up and down, the rider (child) and the horse (Mother) moves along the waves of life controlled
by the disease of their child. It is a cyclical journey of joys and sorrows, of hope and despair
dictated by the complexity of their child’s condition. The mother feels that the life of their child
depend on their sacrifices vis a vis like the sacrifices of the horse so the rider could enjoy the
journey. If not for the sacrifices and pains endured by the horse, the rider would eventually fall
along the ride. Moreover, the pole where the horse stands and the child hold while riding
represents the things that the mothers hold on to while undergoing the ordeal of their child’s life.
If not foe this support, the journey would be impossible to ensure.
