610.1 - DESCRIPTION
Laying of Live Sod on designated locations,

610.3.1 PREPARATION OF THE EARTH BED

‘Areasto be sodded shall:
* Conform to the required cross-section and
contour
+ Be free from stones, roots or undesirable
foreign materials
+ Be loosened toa depth of not less than 30,
610.3.2~ PLACING THE SOD
+ The earth bed shall be sufficiently moistened
tothe loosened depth.
+ The sod shall be placed within 24 hrs after it
has been cut
+ The sod on slopes shal be laid on horizontal
Strips beginning at he bottom working
upwards
+ Each sod strip shall be laid snugly against the
previous one.
610.3.3 - STAKING THE SOD
‘On slopes greater than 1 vertical to 4 horizontal,
sod shall be pegged with stakes 200-300 mm
in length,
‘Stakes shall be driven into the sod at right angles
tothe slope.
610.3.4—TOP DRESSING
‘The surface shall be cleared of unwanted
materials upon which a thin layer of topsoil
shall be scattered over the sod,
610.3.5 ~ WATERING
‘Sodded area shall be watered and maintained in
satisfactory concition for the duration of the
Contract until the final acceptance of the
work
610.4— METHOD OF MEASUREMENT
‘The quantity to be measured for payment shal
be the actual number of square meters of area,

610.5 — BASIS OF PAYMENT
Payment shall bein full compensation for
