March 13, 2011 Ways To Pray Discipleship is my response to God's gift of life to me. First Sunday of Lent It is a call for me to ask myself, "How am | personally connected to God as the faithful guardian of the unique aifts He gave me?” Here at St. Paul our Take a Step Discipleship journey is centered in the scriptural concept that Discipleship is a way of life. The call to Discipleship comes to us through the four pillars — hospitality, prayer, ministry, and financial giving. All four are of equal importance in the shaping of our personal Discipleship journey. As we enter into the Pillar of Prayer let us open cur hearts physically and spiritually to hear the voice of God. We will be asked to make a commitment ta Discipleship in each of these areas, and to put them in writing on a Commitment Card that will be mailed to your home. Please pray for guidance, for patience, far openness, and for understanding of the scriptural call to Discipleship as the coming weeks unfold. Please pray that all parishioners hear this call and respond in their “J own way. It is in open response to this challenge that we will build "The City of God” here at St. Paul, for it is on the foundation of a strong Discipleship commitment that this city rests. “Oh, that today you would hear his voice, harden not your hearts...” (Psalm 95:8) As we begin our Pillar of Prayer and our "Heartwork,” we dedicate ourselves physically and spiritually so that as a Faith community we can live out our mission “To Live As The Body of Christ.” -Rebecca Harris MASS SCHEDULE Saturday Vigil: 5:30PM Sunday: 8:00AM, 10:30AM Daily: 7:30AM except Wednesdays Wednesday Mass: 6:00PM First Fridays: Healing Mass 10 AM; 11:30AM Sr. Adults Brunch Holy Days: 7:30AM and 6:00PM Saint Paul Catholic Church 5971 Highway 25 Flowood, MS 39232-7101 Office 601.992.9547 www.saintpaulcatholicchurch.com First Sunday of Lent March 13, 201 1 “....One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.” Matthew 4: 4 Readings for the Week Mar 14-Mar 20 Mass Intentions of the Week Monday: Lv 19:1-2, 11-18; Mt25:31-46 7:30AM Healing for the family of Henry Oscar “Tootie” Williams II] Tuesday: Is 55:10-1 7:30AM Kathleen Ziemianski Wednesday: Jon 3:1-10; Lk 1 6:00°M Special Intention Thursday: 312, 14-16, 23-25; Mt 7:7-12 7:30AM Edward Messick Friday: Ez 18:21-2 7:30AM Paddy, Maura and Gerad Hehir Saturday: 2 Sm 7:4/5a, 12-14a, 16; Rom 4:13, 16-18 5:30PM Janet Kolka (Seriously ill) 22; Mt 1:16, 18-21, 24a or Lk -Sla ‘Sunday: Gn 12:1-4a; Ps 33; 2Tm 1:8b-10: Mt 17:1-9 8:00 AM People of the Parish (12, 17-19); Mt 421-11 10:30 AM Terry Wray THE WEEK IN REVIEW + March 15—Women’s Guild 7pm » March 16— Mass 6pm + March 16— NO Youth Group and NORCIA + March 18—Stations of the Cross and Supper—6pm. + March 20—NO Religious Education classes ‘TAKE NOTE OF THESE UPCOMING EVENTS...
