এবং eighteen hospitalisedওয়া হেয়েছ। বাংলােদশ দূত Azizul Haque এবং তার দল Daewoo ইিঞিনয়ািরংএর সেঙ সানীয়
কতৃরপক এবংএর সেঙ কাছাকািছ কাজ করেছ & বাংলােদশ আমােদরেক সরকাের তােদর repatriation িসর করেত িনমরাণ Ltd েকত
েথেক বাংলােদশী নাগিরেকর repatriation পদিতেত সহায়তা করেত পসাব িদেয়েছ এবং িবষয় পেসস করা হেচ। DFlD, যুকরাজয

According to the latest information received from the Ministry's officials at the EgyptianLibyan
border point of AI Salloum, there are currently 4073 Bangladeshi citizens who have moved to
safety there from Libya. The 10M is making arrangements to charter extra flights to repatriate
more Bangladeshi citizens from Cairo. The UNHCR is making sanitation arrangements for them
as well as distributing some tents and food supplies. Director General Wahidur Rahman and
Director Mohammad Harun AI Rashid of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Second Secretary
Quamruzzaman of Bangladesh Embassy Cairo who are located at AI Salloum are issuing travel
documents to the Bangladeshi citizens who are without documents for their onward move to
Cairo and repatriation to Dhaka. They are also making arrangements to transport the body of Late
Jahangir Afrad, who died yesterday at AI Salloum by Tuesday through the 10M. The Egyptian
Red Crescent is also extending help to the people gathered at the border point. UNHCR is setting
up temporary shelters at AI Salloum on humanitarian consideration as the number of arrivals
increases.

At the Tunisia-Libya border point of Rasjdir the number of Bangladeshi citizens who have
relocated from Libya has reached 16,000 and is on the increase. First Secretary S.M. Nazmul
Hasan of Bangladesh Embassy, Tehran and First Secretary (Labour) Ahsan Kibria Siddiqui of
Bangladesh Embassy Tripoli are actively providing assistance to Bangladesh citizens gathered
there with documentation, food and water, etc. Arrangements are also being made through 10M
for additional flights to repatriate them to Bangladesh as soon as possible. The Tunisian
Government and the local people are assisting displaced persons at Rasjdir in various ways. The
UNHCR has provided tents for the expatriates and the 10M is arranging additional chartered
flights for our expatriates.

Meanwhile, at the Hania Port of Crete Island, Greece, two ships chartered by Daewoo
Engineering & Construction Ltd moved 2042 Bangladeshi expatriate workers from Libya.
After berthing at Hania Port, some 47 jumped ship, three of whom died and eighteen have been
hospitalised. Bangladesh Ambassador Azizul Haque and his team are closely working with the
local authorities and with Daewoo Engineering & Construction Ltd in arranging their
repatriation to Bangladesh.

The US Government has offered to assist in the repatriation process of Bangladeshi citizens
from the area and the matter is being processed. DFlD, UK is also assisting in the repatriation.
Three chartered flights arranged by 10M with DFID support are expected to leave Tunisia on 7
March 20 II.
