Students took tums leading the class. Two students were allowed to sit out the dance, while working at their desks. then explained to students that they would move to the back of the room and sit on the rug surrounding the easel. Rules of proper behavior were reviewed. Students moved appropriately to the area explained that students would be writing about themselves, part of an autobiography, by selecting adjectives that described them, Students discussed the meaning of adjectives. asked the students to suggest some possible words. She guided them to use positive, expressive words when they suggested words such as crazy or rad. She emphasized they were to describe their personalities, not how they looked. nodeled the process by displaying an acrostic with her name and adjectives she had chosen. Students then moved to their desks and began to select their descriptive words. distributed a selection of words to assist them in their choices and 2 webs to be used during this 2 day unit. Students had a dictionary to use for reference, Students worked on their words while circulated around the room to assist. At 1:10 PM tured on Spanish music to play in the background while students worked. As she worked with students, 1 made individual suggestions to students and corrected words as necessary. At the end of the lesson, students returned materials then led the class in reflecting on and assessing their work for the day, including categories such as 1” voice, raising hands, self-control, listening etc. Students earned 2 letters for the day. Il. POST OBSERVATION CONFERENCE: Recommendations and/or Additional Comments oordinated the content of this lesson with the classroom teacher. Students therefore had the opportunity to reinforce their use and understanding of adjectives while learning Spanish vocabulary. It was apparent that the students thoroughly enjoyed the activities through out the lesson. The lesson was well timed and allowed students movement, activity to practice listening skills and a topic that they were fully engaged with, has worked hard on mastering the integration of strategies that have been developed by each teacher. She works with each classroom teacher to coordinate content and methods. This is a complex task for a new teacher to lear and is well on the way to making these transitions seamless. cis focusing on enhancing classroom ‘management skills and is eager to adapt strategies that she observes as she moves throughout the school, In addition to her direct classroom work, 1has volunteered to be responsible for posting information on our teacher intranet and to assist other teachers in various tasks, She isa positive force throughout the school and has been very successful as an active member of Various teams.
