Overview:

The book Dance is written by Dr. Andrée Grau and published by the company DK
publishing, Inc. To specify this book,is a nonfiction book. The main theme
of this book is just to tell the readers about dance and the history. Also the
meaning and why people do dance.

Purpose:

To inform is the purpose of this book. The intended audience would be people who
are just learning about dance and maybe want to think about participating in it.

Background information

Dr.Andre’e Grau trained in dance in her native Switzerland and

in London. From my research she has good degree.
Evaluation

Describe the book:

This book is interesting but also entertaining. It is entertaining because I do like to

learn about dance every once in awhile.

Respond to the author's opinions:

This book doesn’t really have anything to agree and disagree with. Therefore I
can’t answer that question.

Explore issues the book raises:

I didn’t read the whole book but out of what I read, it didn’t seem like it left out
anything. Also it doesn’t “suggest” anything, so far.

Relate your argument to other books or authors:

I don’t have a choice. It isn’t a debating book. There is nothing to agree or

disagree with.

Relate the book to larger issues:

This book didn’t really affect me. It just tells me some stuff and important dates in
the dance period. My opinions didn’t change. I have always thought the same
about dance and plan on continuing that thought process. It is related to me
because I have a dance class that I have to stay after school for. It is useful for
beginners in dance, but not for me.

Summary

If I had to rate this book I would rate it a 3.I give it a 3 because I am not a beginner
in dance so this book wasn’t useful information.
