Itinerary
Day 1
• (0 – 14:20) Sydney -> Kathmandu, Nepal ($806.17, China southern
airlines, 2 stops).
• (14:20 – 17:00) Hire a car.
• (17:00 – 19:30) Drive to the base of Everest (100km = 2:30hours).
• (19:30 – 24:00) Sleep the night in a Sherpa temple: Tengboche Monastery.
Day 2
• (0 – 2:00) Sleep the morning in a Sherpa temple: Tengboche
Monastery.
• (2:00 – 3:00) Have breakfast in Khumba.
• (3:00 – 5:00) Obtain local guide advice about how and where to
climb it (fluctuating ideal routes).
• (5:00 – 6:00) Organise food packing and water.
• (6:00 – 18:00) Climb to base camp.
• (18:00 - 24:00) Sleep at base camp.
Day 3
• (0 – 6:00)
Sleep at base
camp.
• (6:00 – 19:00)
Trek to the
Khumbu Ice
Falls and
sight-see
glaciers.
• (19:00 –
24:00) Early
night sleep.
Day 4

• (0 – 4:00) Sleep.
• (4:00 – 7:00) Get up early and
watch the sun rise, and famous
mist surrounding Everest.
• (7:00 – 19:00) Trek down.
• (19:00 – 22:00) Drive to
Kathmandu airport.
• (22:00 - 24:00) Wait for flight to
arrive.
Day 5
• (0 – 19:30) Flight to china,
Beijing ($1180, orbitz) [Sleep the
flight].
• (19:30 – 20:00) Hire a pair of
bicycles.
• (20:00 – 24:00) Sight see and
ride to accommodation.
Day 6
• (0 – 6:00) Sleep at accommodation.
• (6:00 – 7:00) Eat Chinese breakfast.
• (7:00 – 9:00) Ride to Balading, Great Wall of China.
• (9:00 – 19:00) Walk the great wall of China and walk back.
• (19:00 – 21:00) Ride back to accommodation.
• (21:00 – 24:00) Sleep at accommodation.
Day 7
• (0 – 6:00) Sleep.
• (6:00 – 9:00) Shop whilst waiting for flight, followed by lunch.
• (9:00 – 10:00) Travel to airport and get on flight.
• (10:00 – 22:20) Flight home ($635.47, 2 stops, 12h 20min).
