Saurette in 1996 Card says that the modern age hates suffering and makes an “ideal
world” to work towards. The affirmative plan works to make the world a duplicate of the
“ideal world.”
Der Derian in 2005 Card says that all of our attempts to anticipate and block crises- 9/11,
the war in Iraq, and Hurricane Katrina, are the very things that cause these crises
Der Derian in 1998 Card says that the Affirmative will always be able to find a new
“huge threat” and that they encourage tiptoeing around life, and we encourage truly
enjoying life by living carelessly and indifferently.
Nietzsche in 1879 says that having an army admits a need for “self-defense” therefore
implying the neighbor’s insecurity. The alternative is to do nothing.
The Aydin in 2007 Card says that life is striving to achievement/ambition/high position
and that everything is a game of power relations. We must embrace this as it is the only
way to overcome the decline in every corner of life and it lets us see how all life is related
and succeed.
