The analysis on the topic has been done two parts:-

 SECONADARY DATA:
The first part of the project comprises of an overall study of
whole Mutual fund industry.

 PRIMARY DATA:
The second part is dealt using a questionnaire. The investors
perception regarding their investment preferences about
investment in Mutual Funds has been carried out using a
questionnaire.

People with less experience were inclined towards investment in the
Mutual Funds. It attracted as a safer avenue as compared to share market.

Mutual Funds are more of an investment option than the speculative


avenue. People tend to gain through long investments rather than through
short term.

Income funds and ELSS are among the few top funds

Old age people are not willing to take much risk and bear loss.

Major part of the people preferred a broker’s advice for investment,


than around 38% who preferred self evaluation as best.

Experience was the main factor that made a person invest in mutual
funds.
