“co education means educating the boys and
girls in the same institution”
“co education is the integrated education of
males and females at the same school
facilities. The opposite situation is described
as single sex education.
History of co education
 It is a modern concept. It was first
introduced in Switzerland but later on it
become very popular in every country.
Merits of co education

•Students become civilized and polite
•Develop mutual understanding
•Improve confidence
•Good for under developed countries
•Student must not forget motive of education

Demerits of co education
ØBoys and Girls may feel hesitant in expressing their
views in front of opposite gender.

CONCLUSION…
 When the both sexes will study together the environment
will be totally changed, boys will become less coarse and
girls less morbid and that will be beneficial for both
sexes.

 More over, this type of system will blow the spirit of fight
in getting more numbers so, there will be more
competition and more intellectuals will be produced.

 When both sexes will spend time in same class they will be
able to understand their natures and that will be helpful
when they will work outside.

 When both sexes will be taught in same class room the

fence of shyness will be removed and will encourage
both sexes to talk and discuss matters freely and
confidently.
