To whom it may concern:

My name is Atticus Finch. I was the attorney to the defendant in this case,
Tom Robinson. Tom Robinson is a black man who was accused of raping Miss
Mayella Ewell. The incident happened the night of November the twenty-first at the
Ewell’s house. After a long trial and decision by the jury Tom was convicted of the
alleged crime. He, however, did not receive a fair trial. Tom Robinson deserves a
fair trial because there was no medical evidence, the jury was prejudice, and the
witnesses’ testimonies had inconsistencies.

The plaintiff provided no medical evidence to suggest the victim had been
raped. In the trial its self it was stated that no one went to get a doctor to confirm
rape. This was made very clear to the jury as the question was asked three times.
Two of the witnesses testified that even though there was a lot of running going on
no one ran to get a doctor to assess the damage done to the victim.

The jury was made up of white men who were biased and viewed black
people as inferior, not human beings. They all believed the testimony of the Ewells
because they could relate to Mr. Ewell who is a farmer. However, mr ewell’s word
cannot be trusted
