I Am From

I am from two big brothers

and four bigger sisters
forever treated like a baby

I am from a single mother

strong, stubborn,independent
always there

I am from the fields of spring (get it!?)

the queen city of the Ozarks
Hammonsville

I am from family game nights

which always end in an argument
but quickly drowned by laughter

I am from the love of basketball

where life was easier
and i was in control

I am from sneaking out at midnight

to watch a concert
on a school night

I am from brotherly friendships

that could
never sink

I am from a place that

I love
but need a vacation
