Dear New Student,

Hi there, my name is Kelly and I͛m one of Ms. Watts͛ older students. I͛m guessing you͛re working on the
fifteen power word project. It might seem a lot like busy work but using the fifteen power words actually helped me
understand the book better. From making an outline to writing a letter, all these can help you read and understand
your book easier. If you still don͛t believe me read on and see if you͛re right.

The first one, the outline, is probably the most boring. Endless work of having to write down fact after fact
after fact, it͛s not very fun, but while writing down all those facts you are analyzing the text. The outline made it
easier to remember the facts. The graffiti had a power word connected to it to, describe. While you were writing
about the picture you were describing it. The compare contrast map is pretty self explanatory. While we were
making the website we were formulating or creating it. Each activity was associated with a power word.

In conclusion, using the power words makes it easier to understand the book. Also, this will help us prepare
for the CRCT. Whether we know it or not we use the power words every day. So, if you look a little deeper you can
see each activity, no matter how boring it is, has a purpose.
