GOVERNOR'S BUSINESS ADVISORY COUNCIL % The purpose of the Business Advisory Council will be to act as a resource and sounding board for the Governor with respect to improving the Maine business climate, growing and attracting Maine businesses, and creating high quality and good paying Maine jobs. Topics of particular focus will be: > Workforce development and job creation > Attracting capital into Maine > Licensing and permitting issues Labor and-employmentissues In these important areas, the Council will be able to provide the Governor with the perspective of on-the-ground Maine business leaders. + The Council will be created by Executive Order of the Governor. The chair and the members of the Council will be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Governor 4 The Council will include not more than fifteen business leaders serving on a volunteer basis and representing a diverse cross-section of Maine businesses, large and small, from throughout the State. + The Commissioner of Labor, the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development, the Senior Economic Advisor to the Governor and representatives from the Community College and University of Maine systems will serve as ex officio members of the Council * ‘The Council will meet on a regular basis with the Governor.
