Bad Parents

A growing number of middle class men and women approaching middle age have
discovered they have coping problems, anxiety, doubts, bad habits and neurosis. After a
lot of thought and discussion with their peers, sometimes verified by well paid
counselors, many have come to the conclusion that the problems are caused by trauma
suffered during childhood as a direct result of poor parenting skills.

What is puzzling with this diagnosis is that the problems did not kick in until after they
had been away from the parents influence for several years. Many were apparently
happy and well adjusted when they left for college or the work force. The years of
smoking pot, drinking alcohol, poor heath practices , lack of commitment, lack of faith,
disregard of family values and other vices or lack of self control are not seen as
contributing to the problem.

Draw your own conclusions.
