Scholarship Application

1. Limited to members in good standing or immediate family of members in good standing.


2. Applicant must be a high school or prep school senior when applying.
3. Recipient must attend an accredited college, business or vocational school. This includes 2-3 year
schools such as nursing, health professions, art and counseling
4. All applications with scores, transcripts, letter of recommendation and extra-curricular activities
must be received by May 15, 2011.
5. A 100+ word essay, with the theme of “What it means to be an American”, must be submitted
along with the application.
6. Scholarships will be proudly awarded on May 30, 2011, during the Memorial Day ceremonies at
the Pvt. Charles J Shutt Detachment.
7. The 2011 Pvt. Shutt Detachment Scholarship Award is in memory of Lenny O'Brien and Roberta
Keefe.
