Zoologist Charles King, Hawaii's “Reptile Man” for over 20 years guided the kkids on an up-close look at Hawaii's amazing lizards, turtles, snakes, and frogs. ‘The students got to touch and examine the animals while coming up with inquiry ‘questions about their habitat, life cycle, and physical descriptions. We had to admit, Wwe felt a little squirmy at first when asked to touch the animals, but since we practiced the International Baccalaureate IB learner profile of being “Open Minded”, Wwe concluded with good grace and tried to do something new and out of our comfort zone. Tt was so interesting to learn new facts about Hawaii's animals. We learned and reviewed vocabulary words such as Vertebrates, Amphibians, Reptiles, and Mammals. We learned how to make sure to keep its habitat safe by keeping Hawaii “Green”. It was an unforgettable experience! Grade 3 LOVES animals! Apa 2011 Volume lasue 6 Grade 3 the | Grade 3 LOVES Nature!
