METHOD OF ANALYSIS
PRODUCT: BIS (2-CHLOROETHYL) AMINE HYDROCHLORIDE

TEST : ASSAY (BY TITRATION)

* REAGENT : (1) 0.05 N HClO4 Solution.

(2) Glacial acetic acid.

(3) Mercuric acetate solution (3.19 % in acetic acid)

(4) Crystal violet indicator.

* PROCEDURE :

Weigh accurately about 0.2 gms. Of sample into a 250 ml dry conical flask and dissolve in 50
ml of glacial acetic acid and mercuric acid Solution (15 ml) previously neutralised using
crystal violet indicator. Titrate against 0.05 N HClO4 solutions till the color changes from
Violet to emerald green.

W (100 - % LOD )

Where,
BR = ml of 0.05N HClO4 solution.
W = Weight of sample in gms.
