• Mahakumbh is one of the biggest religious gathering on earth with a

distant amalgamation of religious and socio- cultural significance.
• The Kumbh Mela occurs four times every twelve years.
• Its originates from the time of battle between the Devtas(god) and
Asuras(demons) for the possession of Amrita kalasha.
• It is held on rotational basis on the four of the most holy places in India-
Prayag, Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh),Haridwar (Uttrakhand),Ujjain (Madhya
pradesh),Nasik (Maharashtra)
• The festival religiously considered to be the most important for Hindus
spiritual gathering , thousands of sadhus and pilgrims that come from all
over India and abroad.
