CONSTRUCTIONAL DETAILS
Conductor: Copper or Aluminium conductor
conforming to IS: 8130/1984-Solid circular,
stranded circular, compacted circular,
stranded shaped,
Insulation: PYC/HR PVC
Inner Sheath: Unvulcanised rubber or
Thermo-Plastic Material compatible with
thermal rating of insulation
Armour: Galvanized Steel Wires/Fiat strips
Outer Sheath: PVC
NOTE: For cables with improved fire
performance. the sheath shall be specially
formulated to meetthe requirement of Flame
fetardance (FR) or fame relardance with
reduced ralogen evolution and smoke
categories 4FRLS},

JOINTING AND
TERMINATION
No special skills required
for jointing and termination of 1.1 hy PVC
cables. For jointing and termination, any of
the following standard methods may be
‘employed
(1) Cast resin jointing and termination with
ast polyurethane compound,
(il) Heat shrinkable jomnts arr termination
Methods (1) and (Il) are the preferied
techniques, Accessories naacied forjointing
and termination are simple and readily
available from standard manufacturers,
EMERGENCY OVERLOADING
Cablas can be overtoaded up lo may
‘conduetor tomporature of 85 degree C. in
case of PVC and 105 degree C. in case of
HR PVG cables for a duration of max 100
hours in any twelve consecutive months and
max 500 hours during the ite ume of cable

Do not use PVC sheathed cables where itis
likely to come in contact with sulphuric act,
highly chlorinated hydro-carnons, ceresylic
‘cids, pyridino, Ketonas & caprolactam.
