Real Time Data Monitoring Help

These pages display real time observations of reports received.

For best results, maximise your browser window and select a small font.

The data fields in the tables record received and missing observations. When more
than one report is detected from a station for an observation hour, only the first two
reports are recorded, separated by a blank character.

Observations on this background are expected observations that have not been
received. Note that when viewing observations for the current day, expect to see
several entries with this background.

Observations on this background have been received later than expected. The
definition for "late" can be configured for each message type.

Observations on this background have been received earlier than expected for this
observation hour. The definition for "early" can be configured for each message
type.

Observations on this background are unexpected observations that were received.

Observations on this background have been recovered by polling the AWS for the
observation.

Reports are recorded using numbers and one or more character flags. Two reports
may be displayed, separated by a blank. An explanation of the numbers and
character flags follows:

 Number fields indicate a report was received that number of minutes after the
observation hour. Note that some reports may be received before the
observation hour, in which case they will be a negative number, and have a
background colour to highlight them. Number fields may have additional
characters attached to them.
 An 'M' indicates no report has been received for this observation hour. There
may be many occurances of this flag
 An 'S' indicates the METAR report was received as a SPECI report.
 An 'I' indicates the report was internally generated by the system.
 An 'N' indicates the report was a NIL report.
 A single hyphen character (ie. '-') indicates that no report is expected for this
observation hour.
 A value in parenthesis () indicates a special operation has been performed on
this value (eg. subtracting 30 minutes from the reported time to cater for
Northern Territory or South Australia time zones).
