Jump cuts

Description: character appears to ‘jump’ in the

frame when two clips are edited together that have
similar shot types and angles, but character has
moved (looks like piece of footage has been cut out)

Why fits AA genre: confuses and disorientates the

audience and this connects them with how the
character is feeling. Would normally expect to see
this edit when looking at the hero, so that the
audience will identify with him, understand his
feelings and emotions and therefore root for him to
succeed in his mission. Jump cuts fit the action AA
genre in the same way that CU camera shots (of
faces) often do.
