LOVE-IN-A-MIST (Nigella damascena)

In class, the classily-clad win.

Windy words boasted by bubbleheads
Head off Hades hollow Hell;
Dwell deep down demonic
dale.
Dalliance constricts daffy male female.
Shall this spooning be well?
Well, only time can tell.

Never ask what love is

Or meaning of a kiss
Give yours and take his
Nothing amiss, life is bliss

Why shy why lie why?

Why me why thee why?

Hush! hush! What’s this fuss?

You know it’s real, feel!
Love is thief, it steals
Crush! crush! crush on us.

(“Don’t you think of tomorrow?

I fear pain and sorrow.”)

But Lady, tomorrow never comes.

Seize the day, it harms
none but they who think
love lessens in a wink.

(“This mist is murky so

I’ve lost sight of you.”)

He looms out o’ the mist.

No words but a kiss
bespeaks the longed-for misty tryst.
