I am writing to apply for the position at Mama’s Home Cooking as advertised on the
University of North Florida website on November 1 2010. I am currently a freshman at
the University of North Florida, and still exploring different career options in the service
of others. I am very interested in joining your company based off your described position,
and company’s strive for service to others.

For most of my life, I have been a dancer and performed on many different occasions for
others. This has awarded me with a few honors which have pushed me to never give up
on my dreams. I have held a local Miss America title, which allowed me to show me
leadership and role model qualities; and have been awarded Most Talented for my high
school. I find the joy of giving to others is the most rewarding part of doing service.
Mama’s offers a wonderful opportunity for me to give service to my peers.

Currently I work at the University of North Florida Bookstore. As an associate of this

company, I have learned to work well with customers on a personal level, and learn a
very complex program which keeps all records of the bookstore on file. Through my
experience at the bookstore, I have acquired skills of computer programming, and stock
management. I am fully qualified for working with customers to give them the best
customer service possible.
