Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Addl.Advocate

General. Learned Addl.Advocate General says that the consultation
process for the appointment of Lokayukta for the State of Gujarat is
already over. Pursuant to that consultation, the Cabinet has also taken a
decision in the matter and has forwarded the same to Her Excellency the
Governor of Gujarat for taking appropriate decision. Therefore, steps for
appointment of Lokayukta are already initiated and are in pipeline. In that
view of the matter, petition is rendered infructuous. The learned counsel
for the petitioner submits that he has no objection if the aforesaid
proposition as stated by learned Addl.Advocate General is correct. In that
view of the matter, as per the proposition stated by learned Addl.Advocate
General, he seeks permission to withdraw the petition. The petition stands
disposed of as withdrawn. c
