The erection of all electrical equipments shall be strictly as pe: Approved drawings, Indian Electricity Rules, 1956, Indian Standards and National Electric Code. 2, The width of the plinth shall be just sufficient to take the base of the transformer, 3, A'separate entrance for the supplier to their metering equipment ‘shall be provided. 4, Circuit breaker of appropriate capacity shall be installed at the point of commencement of supply: tl. Inter locks shail be provided between the isolators and their respective circuit breakers and earth switches 2, Tremaformers in parallel shall have interlocks such that when the primary circuit breaker of the transformer is tripped, the Corresponding secondary circuit breaker also to be tripped. 43, bent electrodes of the Transformers, Generators and Lightning ‘Aarestors normally shall not be connected as earth grid. 4, Copper flat shall used for Neutral of Transformers, Generators ‘and Lightning Arrestors 5, Baltic sail shall be constructed between the Transformers if oil content is 2000 litres and above. 6. Souk pits shall be constructed for the Transformers of il content each of 9000 litres and above. 7, Another Circuit Breaker shall be installed, if distance is more than 15Mirs of walking distance. 8, Ban duct shall be provided on the secondary side of the Transformers for 750KVA and above capacity up to PCC panel Ill, CONTROL ROOM == 1. The cables shall be dressed properly and fixed with inverted ‘U'clamps on to the racks run in the cables trenches 2. Gables of different voltages shall be run on different levels. Cable of A.C. and D.C. shall be separated. Contd. 2. 2 3. Two separate earth flats shall be run on the either side of the cable tray and connected to two separated earth electrodes. 4, All the hinged doors shall be earthed to their respective frames with Rexible wires. 5, Identification such as cable size, length and load on the cable shall be noted at their respective control switches on the panel board, IV, MACHINERY SECTIONS:- 1. Two parallel earth bus shall be run all through the machinery sections with raiges at cach equipment or machine. All the motors, starters, 2. switches on the machines and frame shall be provided with double earth flats each directly tapped from the two parallel earth bus. The earth wire so connected shall be less than 15° in length and the size shall be as per capacity of the motor / equipment 3. Normally bare copper or G.l. shall be used for body earthing. 4, Externally earthing is normally to be carried in preference to the 4% wire of the cable.A.C. earth system, 5. The long and cross travel motors of the E.O.T crane shall be provided with earths of sufficient size and continuous earth wire Shall be provided all along the rails earth earthed at the both ends, 6. Automatic P.F. controls shall be installed for the capacitor oR Capacitor of appropriate capacity shall be connected in shunt for each motor of motor 20HP and above, For motor of lesser capacity the consolidated capacitor bank shall be connected at the nearest distribution panels. 7. For motors which are more than 15° away or out of sight from the control panel, 2%! isolator shall be fixed locally nearer to such motor. The location of D.Bs should conform to Rule 51 of Indian Electricity Rules, 1956. . installation of Transformer shall be as per 1S — 1886. Suitable provisions shall be made for immediate and automatic discharge of every static condenser on disconnection of supply. ‘nil plug sockets shall be three pin type and the third pin shall be permanently and efficiently earthed. 5, Local controls Isolation shall be provided for the motors wherever necessary. Any instruction is issued in this regard at the time of inspection shall be complied with. 6. Earth pits should be constructed as per IS 3043 -87 and the arth electrode of 100mm in diameter of CI pipe and 2.5 Mtrs. in length. ‘The Electrical Installation work shall be got executed through only a Licensed Electrical Contractor as per the provisions of Rule 45 of Indian Electrical Rules, 1956. & The Licensed Electrical Contractor shall submit | a commencement report to this Office immediately after Commencing the electrical installation work. This should indicate the names of the permit holders supervising and executing the work. 9, The licensed Blectrical Contractor shall submit his completion — cum _ test report in the prescribed proforma after completion of the work. 40, The installation should conform to relevant provisions of Indian Blectricity Rules, 1956. 11.
