    On March 11, 2011, Japan was struck by a massive 9.0 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami, causing widespread damage and triggering a nuclear crisis. In the aftermath, many countries offered humanitarian and technical assistance to aid Japan's relief and recovery efforts.
