REEMANDATORY PROGRAM WORKSHOP

F You must attend one of our FREE mandatory workshops to learn about the Certified Nurs-
ing Assistant program.

All workshops will be held at South Campus, 12 Mile Road & Hayes, in the John Lewis
Student Center (K-Building), Room 307.

Program Description
Join us for classroom lectures, hands-on laboratory practice and supervised clinical training in a
long-term care facility. This training will provide the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary for
you to assist patients, young and old, who need your help with daily living activities and other health
related services.

With your new skills you will be able to work in healthcare facilities or private homes under the
direction of a registered nurse. A certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the nurse
assistant training and you will be eligible to take the Michigan Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation
Test, which is required to receive the Certified Nurse Assistant designation.

Program Requirments
Detailed program requirements will be discussed at the workshop, however, the following require-
ments must be met before you register for class:
„ You must complete an Application for Admission (available at workshop)
„ You must (1) take an ACT WorkKeys Assessment, or (2) submit WorkKeys scores less than 3
years old, or (3) submit college or university transcripts.
„ You must have a criminal background check, and a health and drug screening (we will assist
with this process).
