Guideline on how to publish a News-item

1. Log on to GX
2. Create a new News-item (Left upper corner File -> New -> News)

3. Switch the “State”from “A_Concept”to “A_Gepubliceerd”


4. Go down the top of the frame called “Metadata”and switch from “Nederlands”to
“Engels”

5. Go back up to the “Terms”and click “Select”on the right


6. “Remove term””show_Nederlands”and “Add”:
a. “show_Engels”
b. “SBE”
c. “[term of the department]”(for example AIM/ ECON/ SBE-AO/ FIN/ QE/
MSCM/ UNUMERIT/ ERD/ OS/ ROA/ PGE/ MCFE or HR-SBE/ CON-SBE/
MKB// SBE-B/ SBE-C/ LIBER/ METEOR)
d. “News”

7. Then you add the headline in the first line of the text-field
a. Try to use short headlines which grab the attention of the potential reader (on
the main website outside of the news-section only the header is shown)
8. After that you can add the actual news
a. Try to use one nice picture of the person/ event/ place etc. the news item is
about
b. Try to use links to make it easier for the reader to find further information if he
or she so wishes
c. Try to use bold text to highlight important passages of the text
d. Try to use different paragraphs and make headlines “Header 2”to structure
the text
e. Try to keep the amount of text short: On the webpage the frame where the
text is included is extremely narrow and thus long texts seem even longer
