Code of Ethics

 My Personal Code of Ethics as a Recreation Director will be:

- Treat everyone with the upmost respect.
- Give everyone an equal opportunity.
- Give my best effort every day, by showing up to work on time.
- Set a positive work environment for my employees.
- Be a role model of the facility by following the rules and regulations.
- Be honest and trustworthy to everyone.
- Take responsibility for my actions I set at the work place.

 YMCA of Greater Richmond Code of Ethics for Employees:

- Acting responsibly, ethically and with integrity.
- Following not just the letter of the law, but the spirit of the law as well;
- Promoting financial accountability, transparency, and best governance practices;
- Abiding by the by-laws and policies of the YMCA;
- Respecting the wide diversity of people who support our mission through their time,
talent and treasure as well as those who are the beneficiaries of our mission;
- Treating people with dignity, caring and respect;
- Being responsible stewards of the YMCA, its mission, reputation and resources;
- Being open and honest in all of our dealings with internal and external parties.

My personal code of ethics, I gave a broad perspective on what I believe it takes to be a

positive and productive Recreation Director in the workplace. With the code of ethics I
pointed out on what it would take to be a leader of a facility and what a leader has to do to
ensure that the employees of their facility are there to work and get the best experience out of
the work place. I chose the YMCA of Greater Richmond as the professional organization.
The YMCA of Greater Richmond gave a list of what they expect out of the every member of
their team of employees. With the code of ethics the YMCA goes by I feel they should
always be followed to make their business a family friendly center it is today. A comparison
of my personal code of ethics and the YMCA of Greater Richmond is coming from a
perspective of a leadership point of view. The YMCA of Greater Richmond employees are
expected to follow these codes of ethics if they desire to keep their jobs and with my personal
code of ethics are to be followed by myself in order to find the job I desire as well as keeping
that job and business going. I feel both of the code of ethics express what they expect each
employee’s attitude should be while being at the workplace.
